Welcome to the latest edition of the C8 newsletter, packed with industry news and insight! We hope 2025 has started well for you. Here at C8 we kicked off the year with a bang, and our team has been busy creating content, generating coverage, developing communications strategies and plans and winning some amazing new clients. As we start to see the first signs of spring, we have a lot of exciting updates and initiatives to share with you.

We would also like to welcome the following new clients into the fold: Aviatrix, ControlMonkey, BrightSign, Vaultree, Anywhere365, and Cymulate – all fantastic companies that we are delighted to be working with. We are very much looking forward to telling their stories and achieving incredible results.

Working Behind the Scenes to Elevate Client Profiles

The world of disruptive tech never sleeps, and neither does C8. While many of our clients have been immersed in SKOs we have been driving amazing results behind the scenes. Here’s a showcase of some of our coverage highlights:

Firms eye CIO job cuts, but could risks outweigh gains?
This article featured in Raconteur delves into the essential role of CIOs and CISOs in modern businesses, following the news that Asda might cut its CISO position. An insightful comment from David Morimanno, director of identity and access management technologies at Xalient, was included in the article.

Balancing Scalability, Security, and Compliance in Data Management
Effective data management is essential for businesses that are having to manage exponentially increasing volumes of data, and balancing between security and usability is a key challenge. In this article with Intelligent CIO Europe, Iwona Rajca, Senior Solution Engineer EMEA at Protegrity, explains how organisations can manage this, and how AI is causing a stir.

Fortifying Financial Services Cybersecurity with Threat Intelligence and Cybersecurity Automation
Financial institutions are an attractive target for cybercriminals, due to the lucrative data they hold. As such, FinServs need to have a stronger cybersecurity posture than organisations in other verticals. In this Financial IT article, Chris Jacob, VP, Global Field Operations at ThreatQuotient, explains how financial organisations can better protect themselves using automation and threat intelligence, backed up with stats from ThreatQ’s ‘The Evolution of Cybersecurity Automation Adoption’ research.

Stepping Up Our Support for DiversITy-Talent

Having worked with DiversITy-Talent, a Community Interest Company that aims to create opportunities for untapped talent pools in the UK, in the second half of 2024, we are delighted to step up our support in driving awareness for the co-founders, Anna Somaiya and Jeremy Blain’s respective businesses. Through our social media expertise, we aim to highlight their valuable business insights and showcase the exceptional work undertaken by Anna Consultancy and Performance Works International.

Action for Children Half-Marathon Fundraiser

A key focus for C8 this year is on giving back and leaving a legacy, going above and beyond our role as a PR agency. In case you missed it, at the end of last year we announced our charity partner for 2025 is Action for Children, who work tirelessly to help prevent youth homelessness.

To raise money for Action for Children, on Sunday 16th March, I will run in the Reading 1020 Half Marathon organised by Racing Line Running. All money raised will go towards helping disadvantaged young people and to raising awareness around the issue of youth homelessness. In the UK, it’s estimated that almost 136,000 young people aged 16-24 were homeless or at risk of homelessness in 2023, although this figure could be much higher as the true number is difficult to quantify.

We have already raised over £1000 to date, so for those who have generously donated already, thank you for your kindness and your support and for making a difference to a young person’s life – you are a hero!
