On the 21st August, eight members of our team took part in Action for Children’s national charity event, Boycott Your Bed. We joined others around the country and slept in the most unusual places in our home or gardens. Ditching our home comforts, warm blankets, and fluffy pillows to ‘rough it’ for one night in aid of youth homelessness.
The aim of this charity event was to raise money for Action for Children to help vulnerable children and families who are struggling, worried about their future, and who do not know when they will feel safe and happy again. The charity helps children and families who require support, whether it is practical, emotional, or physical.
Before coronavirus hit the UK, more than 4.2 million children were locked in poverty, but now the UK will be facing an even greater increase in families needing support, and therefore we were proud to play our part in helping to tackle this escalating issue. Action for Children runs 476 services across the UK, helping more than 387,000 children, young people, and families every year. And like you, we want every child to have a safe and happy childhood.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support and donations, C8 raised £2,230 with £301.25 in Gift Aid, exceeding our target by 223%. Our donations were put towards Action for Children’s amazing national grand total of £277,000.
Everyone at C8 would like to thank our 95 supporters who took the time to donate, you have truly made a difference to a child’s life.
Thank you,
